Our promise to you

Safety first:
We will inspect and service all gas appliances in your home every year to ensure they are safe and working properly.

Qualified Engineers:
All gas inspections and repairs will be carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers. You can trust that the work meets the highest safety standards.

Quick action:
If any issues are found during the inspection, we will fix them quickly. If there’s a risk, we will repair or replace faulty equipment to keep your home safe.

Clear communication:
We will keep you informed about gas safety checks and any work that needs to be done. If you have concerns, our team is always here to help.

What you can expect

  • Annual gas safety check: We will carry out an annual check on all gas appliances and flues in your home to ensure they are safe. This will be done every year and within 12 months of your last inspection.
  • Moving in? Before you move into a new IDS home, the gas system will be checked and a valid Landlord’s Gas Safety Record (LGSR) will be issued to you to confirm your home is gas-safe.
  • Smoke alarms & carbon monoxide detectors: If there are any issues with smoke alarms or carbon monoxide detectors in your home, we will repair or replace them during the gas safety inspection or when notified.

Your responsibilities

Please cooperate when we need to carry out essential safety checks. If we are unable to access your home to carry out essential gas safety checks, we will work with you to arrange an alternative time. If access is denied, we may need to take further action to ensure your safety.

We offer additional support to residents who may need help understanding the importance of gas safety or accessing their homes for checks.

If you notice any gas issues or faults, or if something doesn’t seem right in your home, let us know as soon as possible. We are here to help keep you safe.

What to do in an emergency

If you smell gas or suspect there’s a gas leak:

  • Turn off the gas supply at the meter.
  • Open windows and doors to ventilate the area.
  • Do not use electrical switches or naked flames.
  • Call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
